Rapid Response to Critical Situations
Sunlight Children’s Aid for Lithuania is a small and efficient grassroots organization, and has the ability to respond quickly yet responsibly to a crisis in Lithuania that needs immediate financial support. These are short term fundraising projects that can surface quickly and address pressing need. Sunlight Children's Aid communicates the details of these projects through email, Facebook and our website. Two examples are:
Funds for Ukrainian Women and Children refugees in Lithuania (March 2022)
- Within the first few weeks of hearing the plight of Ukrainian women and children in Lithuania, Sunlight Children’s Aid partnered with Save the Children in Lithuania gelbekitvaikus.lt to create a rapid response fundraising campaign to provide financial support for the refugees, since the Lithuanian social services were underfunded.
- The proceeds allowed desperately needed basic amenities to be purchased locally and then immediately available, without needing to wait months for shipping containers with donated items to arrive.
COVID-19 Remote Learning Computers Purchased for Students (March 2020)
- When schools were abruptly closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, Sunlight Children’s Aid immediately partnered with Lithuanian Children’s Fund www.lietuvosvaikufondas.eu to purchase computers for rural students to use at home.
- Our rapid response fundraising campaign provided 71 rural families with laptop computers so these at-risk children could continue their studies from home.

Supporting education and better living conditions
Special Education Classrooms
Speech impediments, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity… when addressed early will be only a bump in the road toward success. Many rural schools in Lithuania have trained teachers to work with their special needs students but lack special education materials and equipment. Your donation can help purchase these crucial items.

Donor Directed Support
General donations made to Sunlight Children's Aid support many different initiatives, all for the benefit of children in Lithuania. For example, past donations have made these possible:
- Financial aid to families fostering children with disabilities
- Support for rural day care centers
- Creation of Digital Fabrication Laboratories (FabLab) in rural LT Schools
